One more Bush makes twee

Dan Eggen, writing for the Washington Post, dateline London, says that the Bush dynasty may not be over.

George W. and wife, Laura, believe there's one more Bush waiting in the wings.

"During an interview in London with SkyNews, the Rupert Murdoch-owned satellite network, the correspondent asked: 'We've had father and son in the White House. Is that the end or not?'"

George W. Bush, America's thorn in the side, said, "Well, we've got another one out there who did a fabulous job as governor of Florida, and that's Jeb. But you know, you better ask him whether or not he's thinking of running. But he'd be a great president."

Well, I really don't think that the endorsement of George W. is wanted by any candidate for president. Even John McCain literally hid Bush from sight at an Arizona fundraiser recently.

When asked "So he's [George W.] not the last Bush?," Laura replied, "Well, who knows. We'll see."

Okay, I grant you this tidbit doesn't say that Jeb is going to try for the White House. But I had to mention that G. W. and Laura thought it a good idea and that, for many of us who live in Florida, sends cold chills up our spines as we automatically reach for our passports! This country could not survive another Bush presidency, especially if the Bush was named Jeb.

Not that Jeb didn't do a good job in Florida, 'cause he did if you think rigging an election so your brother gets enough Florida votes to make him president is doing a good job. But if you're talking about being successful as a governor, Jeb, like his brother George as president, was a frigging meltdown!

Or to put it in words we all can understand, the rich got richer, the poor got poorer, the middle class damn near disappeared and the Christian right got lots of state jobs and state money!

The Bush political dynasty started with Senator Prescott Bush from Connecticut. He was forced out of politics due to the ”Trading with the Enemy Act,” as he refused to stop dealing with the Nazis even after they declared war on us. For some reason, money has been more important to that family than many think is proper. It is strange that only Jeb and Dubya are spoken of. The rest of the family manages to keep off the front pages no matter what they do.
The Kennedy Dynasty started with a bad guy but his children and grandchildren turned out well. So did the Rockefellers. It seems that only the Bush family keeps popping up. It used to be that three strikes and you are out, was the way it worked. There is no real Clinton Dynasty yet. Bill was President and Hillary a respected Senator.
I wonder if Obama will be the start of a dynasty too.
