The scum and stoopids attack Ted Kennedy

The lowest of the low, the scum and the stoopids on the right, including Rush Limbaugh, FAUX News host, Tammy Bruce, Eric Sanger, Wesley Pruden, Sean Hannity, etc., have, as a group of blithering idiots, joined in attacking Senator Ted Kennedy and his legacy.

Limbaargh argued that Kennedy was responsible for "the current age of hate."

Eric Sanger called him a "piece of garbage."

Andrew Breitbart, a Washington Times columnist, said Kennedy was a "'villain,' a 'duplicitous bastard,' and a 'prick' on Twitter."

And the list goes on.

Karl Frisch, of Media Matters, details all of this and more in his excellent article, "Storming Camelot: Sen. Kennedy's death brings out worst from the right."

You can read it here. And weep.

Keith Olbermann - more on Lynn Jenkins - the great white dope

Kansas Rep. Lynn Jenkins, Repugnican racist

She didn't really mean it, she said. She didn't have any idea her words would be offensive. She was unaware of any negative connotations.

Ha, ha, ha!

Here's another example of a Repugnican rightwhitewingnut simply speaking her mind. Racist to the core, she doesn't even seem to be aware as to what she's saying.

Fearful of President Obama's policies, Jenkins said: "Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope [my emphasis]. I suggest to you who are concerned about that, who are Republican, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington."

Jenkins has apologized.

But, whether she knew what it meant or not, for a Repugnican Representative like Lynn Jenkins to say such a thing means she is really STOOPID!

Just one more stoopid in Congress!

Rex Rammell - Repugnican racist in Idaho

Oh, boy, the "real" Repugnicans in Idaho are worried. Seems like one of their clan, a stoopid by name of Rex Rammell, who is running for the gubernatorial nomination in Idaho, wants a license to hunt Barack Obama.

Here's the real face of the Repugnican Party. It doesn't matter that a bunch of other Repugs from Idaho disavowed what Rammell said. Rammell obviously feels right at home in their midst and felt free to make a comment that any sane person would consider reprehensible.

But we have learned that religious, christianist, rightwhitewingnut Repugnicans are in their heart of hearts, racists to the core. And all the blather coming out of Idaho and Washington to the contrary is contradicted by their actions since Obama became president.

Rammell is a unreconstructed racist asshat. According to McClatchy, "On Friday morning [yesterday], Rammell issued a statement in a press release and on Twitter: 'Anyone who understands the law, knows I was just joking, because Idaho has no jurisdiction to issue hunting tags in Washington, D.C.'"

Ha, ha, ha. This must pass for "funny" in the wilds of Idaho.

If you guessed that Rammell is a Jesus lover and an ultraconservative rightwingnut, you'd be right on target.

He believes Amurica was established by God. Yup! The god of the Repugnican Party! No, not Yahweh, but Yahoo!

Not only so, but if Amuricans turn away from Yahoo, he's gonna get really pissed and beat up on Amurica.

And the Constitution was "inspired by God."

The rest of the list is the same old tired, failed Repugnican crap:

Rammell likes free markets

Capitalism is god-given

Lower taxes means more growth

Opposed the bailouts

Wants to abolish the Federal Reserve and go back to the gold standard

Hates any kind of guv'mint health insurance plan - guv'mint health insurance is "an improper role" for the guv'mint

Doesn't much like immigrants; build fences and send 'em home

Leave education to the parents

Cut taxes, particularly on the rich

The guv'mint should stop spending money - unless, of course, it needs to for important things like illegal wars

Build more nuclear power plants, and turn all of Amurica's energy production over to private industry

Global warming is not man-made

Use our public lands for everything, including "grazing, logging and mining"

Wolves should be eliminated.

Rammell is an elk rancher. He lives in Rexburg, Idaho. Rexburg is that neat little town where, according to the Huffington Post, "In November 2008, second- and third-grade students on a school bus ... chanted 'Assassinate Obama' after his election, prompting the mayor of this eastern Idaho town to publicly apologize."

Where, do you suppose, would young children learn to say such a thing?

Evidently, Rammell knows full well the people in his party and the people who will be voting for him.

Racists to the core!

And believers in Jesus.

The Stoopids and their paranoia

It is becoming more evident every day that the Stoopids in our midst really are insane. Paranoia defines them.

McClatchy tells how, in recent months, the "birthers" have taken a back seat to a more sick and disturbing paranoia, all of which is nurtured and fed by rightwhitewingnut crackpots on the Internet.

Here's some of what is being promoted:

1. Secret camps are under construction for people who criticize President Obama. In these camps the "criticizers" will be "brainwashed" into believing that Obama's agenda is a good thing.

2. Not only so, but government poohbahs are readying the guillotine to cut off the heads of the dissenters and plan to use their bodies for "parts."

Ted Gunderson is a retired FBI agent. He claims the Obama folks have put together 1,000 camps where people can be picked up and concentrated and that "the government has stored 30,000 guillotines to murder its critics, and has stashed 500,000 caskets in Georgia and Montana for the remains."

Then there's the fruitcakes at Worldnetdaily, all of which should seek immediate treatment for mental illness. Like Gunderson, they claim the guv'mint is "considering Nazi-like concentration camps for dissidents."

Yup. And Jerome Corsi, a man without brain or morals, is promoting this crap, claiming there's a proposal in Congress which "appears designed to create the type of detention center that those concerned about use of the military in domestic affairs fear could be used as concentration camps for political dissidents..."

And, don't forget the wacko, really stoopid, Michele Bachmann, who is worried sick that the guv'mint is expanding the Americorps volunteer service program in order to force all American youth into "mandatory service."

Bachmann, with her brain stuck on stoopid, says "And the real concern is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums."

I cannot imagine why the other members of Congress don't break out in howls of laughter when this Minnesota moron gets up to speak!

Maybe all their brains are stuck on stoopid.

I could be that this is what these idiots are worried about: again, from McClatchy:

"... Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., has proposed a bill that would order the Homeland Security Department to prepare national emergency centers - to provide temporary housing and medical facilities in national emergencies such as hurricanes. The bill would also allow the centers to be used to train first responders, and for 'other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.'"

Hmmm. Allow me a bit of paranoia here: Hastings is black. A disproportionate number of people dislodged by Hurricane Katrina were black. It is likely another hurricane hitting a major city will do the most damage to less viable structures, which are often located in black communities. That means that these national emergency centers would likely serve more blacks than other races.

The rightwhitewingnuts are racist to the core. The dislike and fear blacks. That's why an idiot like Neal Boortz says Hurricane Katrina was a good thing for it swept away human "debris," which translated, of course, means "blacks."

Racism is vicious. Racisim is endemic in this country. And the racists, spurred on by the Repugnican Party (which is heavily infiltrated with racists), will do and say anything to bring down our first black president!

Speaking of scum ...step up, Neal Boortz

Rachel Maddow on Repugnican Revisionism

Here's a summary by Crooks and Liars:

Rachel Maddow on the Republicans attempt at revisionist history that Ted Kennedy would have been all about compromising to the point of making it a lousy bill just to get something passed on health care reform.

Maddow: In other words if only Ted Kennedy were still here. If only he had a health care bill those Republicans say they would have voted for that. You know, ah, Ted Kennedy did have a health care bill. Senator Kennedy was chair of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee which approved a health care reform package in July. It's called the Kennedy bill. And Senator Kennedy, helped write that bill. Senators Hatch, and McCain and Gregg, all voted against it. But the revisionist history goes even deeper. They aren't just saying they would have voted for a Kennedy health care bill, even though they had the chance and they didn't.

They're saying they would have voted for a Kennedy health care bill because Ted Kennedy would have compromised with them, because Ted Kennedy was all about making concessions to Republicans.

Apparently in the history of Ted Kennedy's life and work as imagined by the GOP today Senator Kennedy was the great compromiser. Ready to water down health care reform in order to bring Republicans on board.

My summary: Republicans prove once again they are scum!

The question is: WHY?

A brief post.

The question is WHY?

Why do most Republicans approve of an unnecessary war against a country ruled by a dictator that was no threat to the United States, and that has lasted eight miserable years, costing close a trillion dollars, not to mention the price we've paid in American and Iraqi dead?

Why do most Republicans whine about deficits and scream "socialism" and weep about the collapse of their beloved country when someone mentions reforming health care in this country; a reform that would provide every citizen access to the medical help he or she needs?

Why do most Republicans go off on a patriotic tangent in support of a stupid and winless war in Afghanistan which is costing billions of dollars every month and in which an increasing number of American soldiers are being killed every week?

Why do most Republicans want to get rid of so-called "entitlement" programs such as Social Security and Medicare claiming they are "socialistic" and cost too much but at the same time have no problem with providing the very best government-sponsored health care for members of the U.S. Congress?

Why do most Republicans (and "blue dog" Democrats) line their pockets with money from health insurance and drug companies and then blatantly spout the corporate talking points against health care reform? Why are these whores not voted out of Congress?

And why the hell can the government find money to bail out the rich, and finance stupid and useless wars in far off lands which have nothing to do with freedom or democracy, but refuse to come up with a tiny increase for the elderly on Social Security who are going to have to do with less next year as their insurance premiums are going to increase?

But the most important question is WHY do so many STOOPIDS vote for the very people who sell them out, year after year after year?

Yahweh's Perfect Justice PART 1

Speaking of torture...

Dickie Cheney - the tortured world of the former (thank god!) vice president

Watch this carefully as Dickie Cheney distorts the record, lies through his teeth, discredits the Obama administration, and proves again he is an incompetent fool who has either not read the Constitution or cares nothing for it. Torture is his middle name.

Ms. Stoopid - Michele Bachmann

It is hard to believe that any one person could be as goddamn stoopid as Ms. Bachmann!

Glenn Beck & Sarah Palin - Mouthpieces of evil

[Cartoon © 2009 by Universal Press Syndicate]

In the time since Glenn Beck said that President Obama "has a deep-seated hatred for white people [and] the white culture" and that he was "a racist," a number of companies have pulled their advertising from his program (36 at last count).

One might think that a responsible news organization would see fit to discontinue his services, but that, of course is not the case as we're not dealing with a responsible news organization, we're dealing here with FAUX News, a propaganda outfit fully in the control of its corporate masters.

Mark Karlin, editor of BuzzFlash, has an excellent article as to why Glenn Beck will never be fired from the FAUX network. FAUX likes Glenn Beck's insanity, says Karlin. It increases his audience. Beck, says Karlin, "is doing exactly what FOX wants him to do, which is distract the confused white masses from blaming corporations for their economic plight to blaming scapegoats -- in this case non-whites. ...

"FOX is Rupert Murdoch's main vehicle for ensuring the continued and unquestioned greed of the corporate ruling class, and Beck is the most successful gutter carnival barker in terms of churning up hateful and igniting emotions that they have. He touches something so evil and primal in the chronically confused and white-firsters that he makes Hannity appear civil. Beck is a strategic thespian of both the most skilled and basest sort: this makes him a star to FOX, not a pariah."

You can read all of Karlin's article here.

And now another perpetrator of lies and evil has jumped into the fray: Sarah Palin.

When advertisers began pulling out of Beck's program, Beck attacked Van Jones who Beck claimed is behind the advertising boycott. McClatchy quotes the Los Angeles Times to describe Van Jones as "a White House environmental advisor and co-founder of an African American political advocacy group that organized an advertising boycott of his [Beck's] program."

The group is called Color of Change. And it did indeed launch the boycott. But Beck, being crazy but not stupid, has to know that Van Jones has not been actively involved with the Color of Change for about two years.

Enter Sarah Palin, who is, in fact stupid. On her Facebook site, this donkey from Alaska is defending the insane Mr. Beck. And once again, she has failed to check her information or facts. In her ignorance and in her confused mental state, she has concluded there is a "conspiracy" in the White House to "get" poor Mr. Beck:

"FOX News' Glenn Beck," saith the plasterboard Palin, "is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennyslvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House."

Innuendo and hatred. The basis of Palin-speak! She's back to inciting the mobs of morons who follow her just as she did on the campaign trail.

By defending Beck, she is concurring with his judgment that Obama hates white people and the "white culture," and that the president of the United States is a racist.

Which is, of course, exactly what her own racist followers want to hear as they can use that to justify their own deep-seated hatred for people of color.

What is so sad is that millions of people actually revere her. The woman is a dominionist freak who has no interest in truth, goodness, or the well-being of the United States. Alaskans are rejoicing that she is gone. Unfortunately, she didn't go far enough.

Keith Olbermann - United Health Group fighting health care reform

It's amazing that these bastards lie so openly and blatantly about funding the anti-healthcare reform movement. Even more amazing is the fact that they willingly spend millions to deny decent health care for all Americans!

This video will make you sick! Literally. The people who are supposed to serve the people openly and blatantly kiss the asses of the rich and powerful who put them in office, and it is the rich and powerful whom they serve!

Rachel Maddow Show - GOP will say anything ...

Don't call him Jesus

Call him Yeshua.

That's what Jonathan Bernis, a Jewish convert to fundy Christianity who runs Jewish Voice says. Why, because you're more likely to convert Jews to fundy Christianity if you use Jesus' Jewish name!

Yup. And Bernis should know. He's been out there preaching fundy Christianity for 25 years and says, "I have found that Jewish people are not closed to the gospel-they simply haven't heard a gospel they can understand!"]

Heh. Heh.

Bernis wants to convert people who are Jewish - like he was. He's got a plan. It goes like this:

1. Befriend your Jewish friends (if you have any).

2. Pray, pray, pray. "We need to pray for our Jewish family, friends and loved ones."

3. Be nice to your Jewish friends. "When our Jewish friends see us in close relationship with God, they will be provoked to envy."

4. Use the Old Testament. Use all those passages that fundy christianists like to misinterpret (300 messianic prophecies!) that "unmistakably reveal the identity of the Messiah." Like Isaiah 7:14, which prophecies the "virgin" birth. Heh. Heh. I wonder if this guy can read Hebrew?

5. Use the name Yeshua. Not Christ. Jews won't know that Christ is Greek for "anointed one," which is, of course, what "messiah" means in Hebrew. "Any Jewish person will relate to Messiah."

6. Give your testimony. "Jewish people love the supernatural. ... Let them know that the same God who changed your life can and will do exactly the same for them."

And why, you ask, is all this necessary? Well, because Jews are going to hell and burn forever if they haven't accepted Jesus (Yeshua) as their "messiah" and believe that he was the son of god and indeed was god and died on the cross as a blood sacrifice to himself for the sin of Adam and Eve for which we are all guilty!

This is the same god who who "chose" the Jews but is now prepared to send them to eternal damnation.

"The End of the Age is coming. We must redouble our efforts to reach God's Chosen People with the Gospel. We can't let them die without Yeshua when the final trumpet sounds! Time is running short for Planet Earth. It is devastating to think that people you love will miss out on the joys of Heaven, simply because they have never said yes to the Messiah. Yeshua is coming soon. ... "

You betcha. Any day now. Zap! It's going to be all over. Hell awaits.

Isn't this a wonderful theology? Isn't this a wonderful deity this guy preaches? Not! This is a monstrous deity. This is a monstrous theology. There is no Yeshua coming soon! It's all a monstrous lie.

Where's the love?

Oh, and send money so Bernis can continue his very important End Times ministry to "his" Jewish people!

[Bernis' article, "Sharing the Love of Yeshua," can be found in Charisma magazine.]

Join Joyner to bring despair and hatred, oops, I mean "profound change"...

Never heard of Rick Joyner? You're not alone. But there are thousands of poor souls who have and, as a result, have been conned by this wacko christianist.

Joyner runs an outfit called MorningStar Ministries which is a fundamentalist, pentecostal, speaking-in-tongues, go to hell in a handbasket end-times, freak show. Typical of these goofy groups, they pick and choose what they want out of their Bibles and come up with the notion that it's all true (except for those parts they ignore). So their male god up in heaven created the earth a few thousand years ago in six days, and then created "man" and later Eve or maybe both at the same time (depends on which story you're reading!).

Here's part of the rest of their "theology':

God got thoroughly pissed at his first two "people" (who were, of course, designed just like him or them) for disobeying some obscure, nonsensical rule about eating a certain fruit in a paradisaical garden, so he tossed them out of their paradise. Oh, and that's why childbirth is so hard for a woman. (Fascinating stuff, heh?)

Confusing, though. If god created these two "in his image," then how could they be disobedient, since god never does anything wrong? And if he knows everything, he would have known they would be disobedient yet created them that way anyway and then turns around and blames them for being the way he created them! Good god, what a mess!

Well, it gets worse. According to christianists like Joyner and his ilk, every single person since has been infected with sin because of these first two stupid creatures and thus, god (who is said to be loving and kind), concluded he had no choice but to cast everyone in a pit of fire where they would burn in agony for all time.

Ah, but because he was actually a heathen god and demanded blood sacrifice, he came up with a plan! He decided to send himself disguised as his son to the earth to be born of a virgin (that was important because although he created sex, he had decided it was "dirty") which he did in a hardscrabble little country made up of recalcitrant Jews some 2,000 years ago.

(Of course, it's all fiction, but this is how the story goes).

So, god as his son, Yeshua, aka Jesus, aka Haysus, wandered about either 1 or 3 years (depending upon whom you read) in a scruffy land called Palestine and then got himself hanged on a Roman cross for some reason or another - no one's quite sure why.

But that was good enough for god. And Yeshua, being god, jumped out of his tomb 2 days later (not 3 as commonly supposed) and flew up to heaven where he now lives forever and ever in all his glory with a crown upon his heads and with himself as father and himself as son, and himself as some kind of holy ghost.

Then the god of the 631 commands (read the Bible if you don't know what these are!) made a new rule, according to people called Christians (notice they weren't called Yeshuaians - that's important). Now, said god, it no longer mattered whether you were good or bad, and it didn't matter that those first two idiots disobeyed god, all you had to do is believe that the god who got hung on the cross did so as a blood sacrifice in order to appease himself and atone for the sins of all the people in the world who were, you remember, dirty sinners because of two mythical figures called Adam and Eve.

This god, you see, insists there can be no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. Kinda of the same reason Bush invaded Iraq. Which makes sense, 'cause Bush said this god told him to invade Iraq and kill Saddam Hussein!

And so, if you believe all this stuff, you will be saved and if you die before god/Yeshua comes back, your body, even though gone to dust, will be resurrected and you will live in a fairy-tale-like land in the sky forever and ever and there will be no more pain and suffering.

It's true. You won't have to listen to TV preachers ever again!

Anyway, this is part of the "fundamentals" which Joyner and company believe.

But because these fundamentals are so important, Joyner and his friends have an ungodly itch to stick their noses where they don't belong. Joyner, according to an article at Charisma magazine, "has convened some 300 ministry leaders to help launch an organization aimed at mobilizing Christians to bring 'profound changes to the political, financial and spiritual landscapes of the world.'"

If you aren't quite sure what all that means, again, you're not alone. Rest assured, though, that it involves a takeover of the United States government by theocrats determined to establish laws based upon their reading of their god's biblical injunctions.

Joyner's from South Carolina (where else?) and convened all those folks last week in Fort Mill. Joyner, being a total hypocrite and liar, said that his new organization is an attempt to united Christians and, according to Charisma, "is not intended to be another conservative political movement."

That, of course, is pure bullshit.

Here's what he actually said:

"Our devotion is to wake up the sleeping church in America to seek the kingdom first, and God's righteousness, believing that when this happens we will become the salt and light we are called to be. By this we will have the impact that we should in government and every one of the seven realms of power and influence over man."

"Seven realms" is pentecostal-speak. I don't remember what they are. And I don't care.

Okay, there's more. Joyner has been involved in a bunch of "invitation-only" meetings (for church "leaders") to discuss "political, spiritual and economic 'crises.'"

Not another conservative political movement? Right!

Not only so, but Joyner, the hypocrite "has been outspoken in his opposition to President Obama's health reform bill, saying the plan would lead to euthanasia and government rationing of health care."

Now that's not true; never was true; never will be true. And unless Joyner is a stoopid, he knows it's not true. Which means Joyner is a goddamn liar!

Dontcha just love these christianist right-wingnuts? With such a despicable god, it's no wonder they are so despicable themselves!

Jonah Goldberg - more lies from the right

I wonder how creeps like Jonah Goldberg sleep at night. They wander about in their delusions, lying their asses off, and claim affinity with the deity. By so doing, they further corrupt any chances we have of putting this nation back together again; in fact, they are actively working to destroy Obama and his presidency, not giving a damn about the country as a whole

Here's what Crooks and Liars has to say about the video above:

August 24, 2009 News Corp

From TPM:

Jonah Goldberg, editor-at-large of National Review Online, went on Fox News today to fan the flames of the latest fabricated "death panel" controversy.

Goldberg equated a Veterans Affairs pamphlet -- one that's reportedly no longer being used -- with Nazi eugenics, saying "death panels may not be too far off the horizon."

The pamphlet in question is one that, Fox reported this weekend, encourages disabled veterans to decide whether their lives are worth living. Tammy Duckworth, an assistant secretary of the VA, told Fox on Sunday that the department instructed VA doctors to stop using the pamphlet in 2007.

But Fox has ignored that insistence, saying soldiers returning from Iraq are given the pamphlet.

Dave N.: This really points out just how profoundly dishonest Jonah Goldberg is, just as he was with trying to deny that James Von Brunn was a right-wing extremist. These remarks are an outgrowth of his specious "Liberal Fascism" thesis, which since President Obama's election he has framed as the apotheosis of Obama's own fascist tendencies.

But as noted above, Tammy Duckworth has pointed out that the pamphlet in question was commissioned by the Bush administration, and discontinued in 2007. The Obama administration has had nothing to do with this.

Sam Harris on Real Time with Bill Maher

FAUX News and the "death book"

FAUX News just doesn't give a good goddamn about the truth! It is one hell of a sick organization! It should change it's name to FOX Repugnican Propaganda!

What follows is what Crooks and Liars has to say about all this:

Instead of discussing the weeks' news, Chris Wallace devoted the first segment of "Fox News Sunday" to trying to prove President Barack Obama's administration was encouraging veterans to choose to die.

"We're going to do something different here today. Usually we discuss the news, but today we're going to tell you about something you may never have heard about, what critics are calling the 'death book,' a 52-page pamphlet the Department of Veterans Affairs is using right now in end-of-life counseling for the nation's 24 million veterans," explained Wallace.

Wallace talked to Jim Towey, the Bush administrations' Director of White House Faith Based Initiatives. In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Towey claimed an end-of-life planning document in use by the Veterans Administration was steering veterans to "predetermined conclusions."

Huffington Post debunked the Towey claims Saturday.

They failed to mention that the so-called "death book" contains the same advance-care planning required of all health care organizations under federal law, has been in use since 1997 and was developed with the input of interfaith ministers.

But Towey could benefit financially if the Veteran's Administration drops the current material "Your life, Your choices" used for end-of-life consultations. Towey sells his own materials that compete with documentation currently in use.

Wallace pointed out Towey's financial stake. "You have written an end-of-life document yourself called "Five Wishes," which is widely used around the country. In the course of this controversy the last couple of days, V.A. officials are suggesting you want the government to buy and use your book," said Wallace.

"They can if they want. Millions of Americans do. But that's not what this is about," answered Towey.

(Nicole:) As Richard Smith at Vet Voice says,

After reading this, its apparent that Jim Towey is nothing more than a Sarah Palin wannabe. Except not as smart.

Here is my suggestion to Mr. Towey: When Veterans want advice on their care from someone who has never served in the military, nor received care from the Veterans' Health Administration, we'll call you.

Justice is not about innocence or guilt - Justice Antonin Scalia

This from an article by Vincent Rossmeier (the War Room), at, August 18, 2009.

Troy Davis is an inmate on death row in the state of Georgia. Davis' attorney filed "an original writ of habeas corpus, which skips the lower courts and goes directly to the Supreme Court. As Justice Antonin Scalia pointed out in a dissent he wrote against Monday's decision, the Court has not made such a ruling 'in nearly 50 years.'"

Except, it appears that there might be evidence which would exonerate Mr. Davis; evidence which was not available at the trial. Such notables as Pope Benedict, former President Carter and Desmond Tutu have supported a new look at the evidence.

Thus, to avoid "The substantial risk of putting an innocent man to death," the Supremes ruled that a federal trial court should review the case, look at the evidence and determine whether this new evidence would establish Davis' innocence.

On the Supremes, there was one man, a Roman Catholic rightwingnut christianist by name of Antonin Scalia who "vehemently disagreed." Yes, he did. Vehemently. In fact, it would appear he does give a damn whether Davis is innocent or guilty! He wrote,

"This Court has never held that the Constitution forbids the execution of a convicted defendant who has had a full and fair trial but is later able to convince a habeas court that he is 'actually' innocent." According to Mr. Rossmeier, Scalia "also said that Davis' appeal would be 'a sure loser' once it was examined again."

In other words, to hell with the truth.

Maybe Davis didn't really have a "full and fair trial". We've all heard stories about crooked cops, crooked or incompetent prosecutors, lawyers and judges. We know many innocent people are put to death in our killing states (like Texas) every year. That doesn't bother good ol' Roman Catholic Scalia! Go ahead, put him to death! If he's actually innocent, so what? We wouldn't want to do something that the Court has never done before!

Stoopids rool!

Some nuggets mined from Sierra magazine, September/October 2009:

1. Bristol Palin told People magazine, "If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex. Trust me, nobody."

Hmmm. Methinks this is a young mother mourning her lost childhood. Maybe if she had been provided some real sex education...

2. The EPA has declared a public health emergency in Libby, Montana because "hundreds of people have died from lung disease caused by asbestos from a mine operated by W.R. Grace and Company."

I've long argued W.R. Grace is an irresponsible outfit!

3. Twenty-five years ago, the EPA declared a 197-mile stretch of the Hudson River to be a Superfund Site. Just now dredging has begun to dig out 124 tons of "highly toxic PCB" dumped in the river by General Electric over a period of 30 years. The company is paying for its removal.

4. "The Supreme Court rules that the Clean Water Act allow Couer Alaska's Kensington gold mine to dump its toxic tailings in Lower Slate Lake, killing everything in it." Yikes! Hey, that's Palin's Alaska for ya!

5. Joe Barton, a U.S. Repugnican representative from Texas (naturally!) wants people to believe that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. I mean, how could it be, "It's in your Dr. Pepper"?

What a mental wizard. Must have graduated from Texas public schools where they now teach about the Bible and god and stuff.

6. According to a telephone survey by Rasmussen Reports, "40 percent of Americans think global warming is caused by 'long-term planetary trends.'"

And a bunch of that 40 percent serve in the U.S. Congress, where STOOPIDS ROOL!

7. "Of the 17 major countries in National Geographic's 'Greendex' survey of sustainable consumption, the United States ranks dead last."

8. Daryl Hannah, famed Hollywood actress, and James Hansen, famed climate scientist got themselves arrested while protesting mountaintop-removal coal mining close by a Massey Energy plant in West Virginia.
