State secrets and surveillance - what's going on?

This is just plain depressing. The Obama administration needs to address this issue immediately and tell the American people what the hell is going on and give the rationale for their actions!

You're right Jacob. Obama has to come foward and explain just why this illegal spying isn't coming to an end and why this information isn't being released to those who have been spied on.

There are of course differences between the individual behaviors of the Chimp and "thePrez," but they are both integral members of the same culture, the culture of the Party of Property. They may differ at the margins, but on matters of 'presidential orthodoxy' they're likely to be indistinguishable.

This is where the rhetoric of the inherent similarity between the two 'parties' is the most persuasive. National Security and the perqs of power needed to assure it. "It's not wring if the president does it." They all believe it, it's the special dispensation of the Office. Nixon never disavowed it, Raygujn relished it while he drooled; Poppy Bush is CIA, for chrissake; and the Chimp and his satraps seem to like to brag about it.

And of course, because he is--he MUST BE, else h e wouldn't be there--of that same culture, Obvama believes it too...

No president other than Washington ever ceded back to the State any power or authority he had arrogated to meet a particular exigency.
