In a lopsided deal on Wednesday, Israel freed five Lebanese militants in exchange for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah harrumphed that Hezbollah had won a great triumph, saying that the "age of victories has come." Speaking to a crowd in Beruit, Nasrallah said that this exchange embodied Hezbollah's power over Israel.
One of the released prisoners, Samir Kantar, swore he would continue to fight Israel: "I promise my people and dear ones in Palestine that I and my dear comrades in the valiant Islamic resistance are returning." The crowd cheered its approval.
According to the Associated Press, Lebanon's President Michel Suleiman, wearing combat fatigues given to him by Hezbollah symbolizing Hezbollah's unending fight against Israel, told the freed men, "Your return is a new victory."
Hezbollah is just one group that has sworn death to the state of Israel and to all Israelis. Like all the other militant Islamic groups, Hezbollah has vowed it will never recognize Israel's right to exist, and will use all of its powers to drive Israel into the sea.
For 60 plus years, the Islamic militants have lived for murder, extortion, and death. Because they have put all their resources into this holy war against the Jews, the countries and people they claim to love and protect remain backward, poor, and desperate and are unable to contribute anything of value to the world. Their legacy is the detritus of unending war.
What follows was sent to me by a friend. I submit it as a proper and true response to those who would live by the sword and die by the sword.
The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew that has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew that protests by killing people.
The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels. Jews don't murder their daughters and sisters in honor killings. Jews don't behead members of the press.
Perhaps the world's Muslims would consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.
Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and [their] Arab neighbors--even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel's part--the following two sentences really say it all:
'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel.' -- Benjamin Netanyahu

Such correct statements have been made for years but world wide media rarely writes about such things. Israel is the only country in the UN that is not recognized by a large bloc of members, many of whom became states after Israel. (Including Iraq, that expelled its century’s old Jewish population in 1950. It was 25% of Baghdad’s population at the time) It is the only nation that has a capital not recognized by any state, including the US, its friend. It is the only nation constantly threatened with war that is not allowed to win a peace to prevent the next war. It is truly unique.
It went from a second world nation to a first world nation in less than 50 years but is still under fire for fighting back. Their attempt to build a fence, which is still delayed, to prevent terrorists from entering, has been condemned by states that also have such fences. There are nine such fences in the world, eight of them built by states that tried to prevent Israel from building one. Something is wrong with the world.
Reading the history of the Jews is very enlightening. After three of every Jew living in Europe was rounded up and sent to death camps, there are still people that do not believe it everhappened; or that we should all forget about it. Unfortunately, we do sit back while the people of Darfur and others are killed because of their label and the Arab world does threaten half the Jews of the world with extinction as of right now.
