Blame the Dems says fauz prezident Bush

Bush is like a broken record. But playing his lies over and over again works. And after each lie, too many Americans stand and applaud this faux prezident.

For example, in his July 12 radio address to the nation, Bush said "Americans are concerned about high gas prices." Then he pretended to give a damn about those squeezed by the "non-recession." But none of this is his fault says da Bush; it's the Democrats (in Congress) who are to blame.

Bush told us that we "are increasingly frustrated with Congress's failure to take action."

More lies unfolded from there. We need to drill, drill, drill, said da Bush. We need to drill in the Outer Continental Shelf. We need to tap into the oil shale in the Rocky Mountain west. We need to explore for oil in northern Alaska.

It's all Bushit bullshit!

As some Democrats readily pointed out, there are plenty of oil leases currently unattended. Why aren't the oil companies drilling where they already have leases. "...there are 68 million acres of federal land and waters where oil and gas companies hold leases, but aren't producing oil. These have the potential of doubling U.S. oil production.

Greed drives the oil industry. They refuse to drill the leases they have because they believe with Bush and Cheney in power, together they can con the American public into providing them more leases which will secure their obscene profits for the future.

But even doubling U.S. oil production does not solve the problem. Fossil fuels are finite as our children and grandchildren will soon discover. The problem cannot be solved by more drilling because the problem is our dependence upon fossil fuels. And the Bush administration has resolutely and deliberately failed to do anything to reduce that independence. Why should it? This administration not only represents the oil industry, it is the oil industry!

Furthermore, a major reason for the rise in prices is the incredible thirst of the U.S. military for oil and gas. The Defense Department gobbles up huge amounts of oil and gas during peacetime. When we are engaged in military actions around the world, DOD's usage of fossil fuels increases exponentially.

Bush and Cheney led us to an unnecessary and illegal war for one purpose -- to grab Iraq's oil. Their lust for black gold has led us to our present situation. Bush lies. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Democrats in Congress refusing to allow more drilling.

And opening up our pristine waterways and mountains and forests to the greedy oil industry is not going to solve the problem. It will simply destroy our pristine waterways and mountains and forests.

Bush has already destroyed our economy and our reputation - you'd think that would be enough!
