That's the way to do it. Send the greatest warmonger in the administration to promote peace. Only in Bushdom!
Cheney is supposed to make sure that the people in the Middle East understand that "the United States is committed to a vision of peace" in that area of the world.
Good luck with that! Let's start with Iraq, OK?
Oh, oh. There's something else on the agenda - oil! So that's why Cheney's going to Oman and Saudi Arabia first. Hmm. I think the Saudis already told Bush to go jump when he asked them to increase production...
Maybe Cheney can threaten them with an pre-emptive invasion or something...you know, bring regime change to bring democracy to the land of Mecca...
And why would the Palestinians or the Israelis trust anything this administration had to say? Is Hamas going to stop the rocket attacks because Mr. Cheney asks those terrorists to do so in a nice way?
"I'm optimistic," said Bush.
"We're not," said most of the rest of the world.

A vision of peace is not the same as a plan to achieve peace. So far Cheney has not done well in the peace department. He has not managed to get the Iraqi government to go along with peace. Most of the Middle East doesn’t listen to Bush now, why will they listen to Cheney?
