Join Joyner to bring despair and hatred, oops, I mean "profound change"...

Never heard of Rick Joyner? You're not alone. But there are thousands of poor souls who have and, as a result, have been conned by this wacko christianist.

Joyner runs an outfit called MorningStar Ministries which is a fundamentalist, pentecostal, speaking-in-tongues, go to hell in a handbasket end-times, freak show. Typical of these goofy groups, they pick and choose what they want out of their Bibles and come up with the notion that it's all true (except for those parts they ignore). So their male god up in heaven created the earth a few thousand years ago in six days, and then created "man" and later Eve or maybe both at the same time (depends on which story you're reading!).

Here's part of the rest of their "theology':

God got thoroughly pissed at his first two "people" (who were, of course, designed just like him or them) for disobeying some obscure, nonsensical rule about eating a certain fruit in a paradisaical garden, so he tossed them out of their paradise. Oh, and that's why childbirth is so hard for a woman. (Fascinating stuff, heh?)

Confusing, though. If god created these two "in his image," then how could they be disobedient, since god never does anything wrong? And if he knows everything, he would have known they would be disobedient yet created them that way anyway and then turns around and blames them for being the way he created them! Good god, what a mess!

Well, it gets worse. According to christianists like Joyner and his ilk, every single person since has been infected with sin because of these first two stupid creatures and thus, god (who is said to be loving and kind), concluded he had no choice but to cast everyone in a pit of fire where they would burn in agony for all time.

Ah, but because he was actually a heathen god and demanded blood sacrifice, he came up with a plan! He decided to send himself disguised as his son to the earth to be born of a virgin (that was important because although he created sex, he had decided it was "dirty") which he did in a hardscrabble little country made up of recalcitrant Jews some 2,000 years ago.

(Of course, it's all fiction, but this is how the story goes).

So, god as his son, Yeshua, aka Jesus, aka Haysus, wandered about either 1 or 3 years (depending upon whom you read) in a scruffy land called Palestine and then got himself hanged on a Roman cross for some reason or another - no one's quite sure why.

But that was good enough for god. And Yeshua, being god, jumped out of his tomb 2 days later (not 3 as commonly supposed) and flew up to heaven where he now lives forever and ever in all his glory with a crown upon his heads and with himself as father and himself as son, and himself as some kind of holy ghost.

Then the god of the 631 commands (read the Bible if you don't know what these are!) made a new rule, according to people called Christians (notice they weren't called Yeshuaians - that's important). Now, said god, it no longer mattered whether you were good or bad, and it didn't matter that those first two idiots disobeyed god, all you had to do is believe that the god who got hung on the cross did so as a blood sacrifice in order to appease himself and atone for the sins of all the people in the world who were, you remember, dirty sinners because of two mythical figures called Adam and Eve.

This god, you see, insists there can be no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. Kinda of the same reason Bush invaded Iraq. Which makes sense, 'cause Bush said this god told him to invade Iraq and kill Saddam Hussein!

And so, if you believe all this stuff, you will be saved and if you die before god/Yeshua comes back, your body, even though gone to dust, will be resurrected and you will live in a fairy-tale-like land in the sky forever and ever and there will be no more pain and suffering.

It's true. You won't have to listen to TV preachers ever again!

Anyway, this is part of the "fundamentals" which Joyner and company believe.

But because these fundamentals are so important, Joyner and his friends have an ungodly itch to stick their noses where they don't belong. Joyner, according to an article at Charisma magazine, "has convened some 300 ministry leaders to help launch an organization aimed at mobilizing Christians to bring 'profound changes to the political, financial and spiritual landscapes of the world.'"

If you aren't quite sure what all that means, again, you're not alone. Rest assured, though, that it involves a takeover of the United States government by theocrats determined to establish laws based upon their reading of their god's biblical injunctions.

Joyner's from South Carolina (where else?) and convened all those folks last week in Fort Mill. Joyner, being a total hypocrite and liar, said that his new organization is an attempt to united Christians and, according to Charisma, "is not intended to be another conservative political movement."

That, of course, is pure bullshit.

Here's what he actually said:

"Our devotion is to wake up the sleeping church in America to seek the kingdom first, and God's righteousness, believing that when this happens we will become the salt and light we are called to be. By this we will have the impact that we should in government and every one of the seven realms of power and influence over man."

"Seven realms" is pentecostal-speak. I don't remember what they are. And I don't care.

Okay, there's more. Joyner has been involved in a bunch of "invitation-only" meetings (for church "leaders") to discuss "political, spiritual and economic 'crises.'"

Not another conservative political movement? Right!

Not only so, but Joyner, the hypocrite "has been outspoken in his opposition to President Obama's health reform bill, saying the plan would lead to euthanasia and government rationing of health care."

Now that's not true; never was true; never will be true. And unless Joyner is a stoopid, he knows it's not true. Which means Joyner is a goddamn liar!

Dontcha just love these christianist right-wingnuts? With such a despicable god, it's no wonder they are so despicable themselves!
