FAUX News and the "death book"

FAUX News just doesn't give a good goddamn about the truth! It is one hell of a sick organization! It should change it's name to FOX Repugnican Propaganda!

What follows is what Crooks and Liars has to say about all this:

Instead of discussing the weeks' news, Chris Wallace devoted the first segment of "Fox News Sunday" to trying to prove President Barack Obama's administration was encouraging veterans to choose to die.

"We're going to do something different here today. Usually we discuss the news, but today we're going to tell you about something you may never have heard about, what critics are calling the 'death book,' a 52-page pamphlet the Department of Veterans Affairs is using right now in end-of-life counseling for the nation's 24 million veterans," explained Wallace.

Wallace talked to Jim Towey, the Bush administrations' Director of White House Faith Based Initiatives. In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Towey claimed an end-of-life planning document in use by the Veterans Administration was steering veterans to "predetermined conclusions."

Huffington Post debunked the Towey claims Saturday.

They failed to mention that the so-called "death book" contains the same advance-care planning required of all health care organizations under federal law, has been in use since 1997 and was developed with the input of interfaith ministers.

But Towey could benefit financially if the Veteran's Administration drops the current material "Your life, Your choices" used for end-of-life consultations. Towey sells his own materials that compete with documentation currently in use.

Wallace pointed out Towey's financial stake. "You have written an end-of-life document yourself called "Five Wishes," which is widely used around the country. In the course of this controversy the last couple of days, V.A. officials are suggesting you want the government to buy and use your book," said Wallace.

"They can if they want. Millions of Americans do. But that's not what this is about," answered Towey.

(Nicole:) As Richard Smith at Vet Voice says,

After reading this, its apparent that Jim Towey is nothing more than a Sarah Palin wannabe. Except not as smart.

Here is my suggestion to Mr. Towey: When Veterans want advice on their care from someone who has never served in the military, nor received care from the Veterans' Health Administration, we'll call you.

You can't serve two masters by worshiping money, power, etc. Yesterday, the priest on Mass for Shut-Ins on EWTN pretty much called all the greedy CEOs (people like Jim Towey) looking to make a profit on healthcare are worse that whores. Of course that was not exactly the same words used by the priest. I was happy to see the Church telling people who have been blessed with exteme wealth worshiping themselves while their brothers and sisters across the world are either sick, starving, sold into sex slavery or living in such poverty they are either driven to the military or to crime, because a job at Burger King just doesn't pay the bills.

More money goes through insurance companies than any other corporations.

What does Sarah Palin think about Hospice? Is Palin planning a protest at all lthe Hospices across America. I guess she would have to protest all the estate planning lawyers who help people make important decisions about the last segment of their life.

Again, the neo-Nazis protest too strongly.

Like the devil they want to separate and conquer. Fear!!! You can't have faith and fear at the same time.

Ted Turner suggested to use these times of economic hardship to unite with family and friends. He was right. I went to visit my mother and she needs help. I'm guilty because I got to caught up with other stuff and assumed she would call if she needed anything.

Greed!!! The Nazis stole the largest diamond in the world from India where it had been held as sacred. The Nazis gave the diamond to Queen Victoria. They like to bring down the heart of a nation, i.e., the World Trade Center. The Americans kept their faith, except the ones that were thinking about how they could profit from the disaster.

I have faith the American people are strong and our faith may have been shaken but it will never be brought down.

The ultra rich chased a lot of Irish out of their homeland and now the same thing is happening here.

I am praying these people that stir up fear in attempt to bring the American spirit down understand that Karma is in the works and God has a great sense of humor. I mean Sarah Palin looking a lot like Tina Fey. Sen Blago of Illinois.

There are unsung heros as our economy as McCain warned was "about to crater".

One of my favorite nights during the Change campaign was when Sen. McCain cancelled on David Letterman's Late Night Show and called his pal Keith Olberman. The worm turned and Mr. Letterman showed his God given talent for until the election. Thanks Dave! Thanks Keith! Thanks to everone who gets it.

Things are really good considering there are still some excellent journalists and other people like comics, musicians, etc. that care about the rest of the world's well-being.

"Death Book"? Sounds like drunk talk with a lust for cash type cult. Palin and Cheney were probably boozing it up and spinning their web of evil.

God Bless you all. Things are getting better as the evil in a lot of men and women's hearts is being exposed.

Jim Towey is a mouthpiece, or better yet a codpiece for the Republicons. His antics at the other FBI I remember quite clearly. He and Trent Lot and others tried to cherry pick which faith groups could participate in the Faith Based Initiatives, and which ones couldnt. It was very telling. So to me, this is just more of his hair brained ignorance.

Thanks for putting this out there. I am busy writing thank yous to the various companies that have pulled their ads from Fux News. I then plan on writing to the companies that I patronize that haven't yet.

If only we could get Fux News and Limpberger pulled from AAFEs transmissions, the world would be a more interesting place.

Seeing Eye Chick - great idea about advertisers. I started something trying to get Rush Limbo off the air. Got in a little trouble but it was well worth it.

Fux News and Ruppert Murdock really give me the creeps. Seriously, I can spot someone who is possessed. It's not a gift I would have asked for but it is there.

A gentleman named Eugene was on Countdown last night and stated America's health ranks at 35th in the world. Most Americans sit around worshiping themselves, are greedy and really don't give a fudge about anything but themselves.
And most Americans have eaten so much pork and beef it's rendered them stupid.

Example: Right now there is this cancer cluster in the Acreage in Florida. Idiots were conducting soil tests, like you do if you want a super garden. A warning came on the TV not to eat the python meat because of the high content of mercury. How about checking the aquafure (sp?). People do eat the python meat and they say it tastes like chicken.

There is a Cheney Food company down here and I bet they pawn off poison python meat just to make a buck.

I escaped depression when I went to work for a Jewish carpenter. Working for lawyers in South Florida was like working for the Devil himself.

Jacob - I didn't know you live in Florida too.

Great blog.
