Arthur Du Mosch, 49, is an Israel wildlife guard. He emigrated to Israel from the Netherlands in 1985 and lives in a small community called Sde Boker in the Negev desert in southern Israel.
One night he was laying in his bed with his cat. A leopard suddenly leapt into the bed with them. Mr. Du Mosch, wearing only his nightclothes, "lunged at the big cat and grabbed its neck, pinning it down for 20 minutes until help arrived."
The leopard was probably after the domestic cat. Fortunately, the leopard was old and weak. If that had not been the case, Mr. Du Mosch would most likely be telling his story to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
People in Sde Boker had seen leopards in the area, but were not particularly worried. Leopards only come into villages when they are too weak to hunt in the wild and are not considered much of a threat to humans.
Right.
What I want to know is how Mr. Du Mosch called for help holding the cat down by its neck?
Meow.
