Morons in Missouri and Beyond
Mother Jones has reported that back in January of this year, "Orange stickers with an image of rifle crosshairs were found ... on the office doors of several Democratic state senators." Four of the senators are women. The other is Victor Callahan, the Democratic floor leader.
This horrendous piece of domestic terror proves that Rep. Todd Akin is not the only moron in Missouri.
Which leads into another story reported by the Huffington Post last week. Megadeath is a rock group. They recently did a show in Singapore. David Mustaine is a Megadeath singer. He decided that a concert was just the place to discredit the president of the United States. Here's what he said, as he pretended to gag by stuffing a finger down his throat:
"Back in my country, my president, is trying to pass a gun ban so he's been staging all these murders. The 'Fast and Furious' thing down at the border. And Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there. And now, the beautiful people at the Sikh temple."
In the long run it is not important what this crackpot rock singer thinks about anything, but in the short term there are people in Singapore (and indeed, in our own country) who will believe him because they don't know any better. Mustaine is a moron, a liar of the worst sort and is probably brain-damaged. Any sane person knows that to accuse the president of staging murders in order to get a gun ban passed is beyond the pale, so far out in space that it's difficult to comprehend.
I don't even want to guess at his motivation. What motivates morons?
Mr. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is the Big Cheese in Republican circles these days. You no doubt know he is not a fan of the Federal Government trying to save the economy by extending "stimulus" monies to the states. He's agin' such a thing even if the country collapses because such stimulus monies are against the philosophy of Ms. Ayn Rand.
A few days ago, Ryan said that President Obama was a failure because he didn't try to save a GM factory in Ryan's Wisconsin district. He said it was "one more broken promise" on the part of Obama and the Democratic Party.
Oops! It turns out that the plant in question closed during the last year of the G. W. Bush administration, before Obama became president. In my opinion, Ryan had to know this, but thought he could get by with one more lie as the media has been quite negligent in fact-checking Republican claims for many years, and the plain folks weren't likely to hop to their computers to try to determine if Ryan was telling the truth - they already knew their dear Catholic leader always told the truth!
Actually, this is a huge lie and it grows even larger because the evidence indicates that Ryan did everything he could to obtain federal dollars to assist plant employees left out in the Wisconsin cold. Not only so, but as the Huff Post points out, "On Sept. 18 [2008], his [Ryan's] office put out a statement that it had joined forces with the U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Agency to secure a $450,000 grant to support economic initiatives for the Janesville [Wisconsin] area."
Ryan fits in well with the Romney organization because they are both like chameleons, able to change their shape, their minds, their beliefs very fast, depending upon which way the political wind is blowing!
Wisconsin has at least one moron.
One has to almost feel sorry for Willard Mitt "Mittens" Romney. He's so dumb, so in over his head, so prone to gaffes, so unable to comprehend what the presidency is all about that it must be terrifying to wake up in the morning and find that he's liable to be the Republican nominee next week in Tampa. Unless, of course, Hurricane Isaac blows the Tampa Bay Times Forum into the Gulf of Mexico.
One of Mitt's problems is that he's a prolific liar and his lies tend to catch up with him and then he has to backtrack and blame his underlings or go to great lengths to say he didn't mean whatever it was he said about whatever he was talking about which he certainly can't be expected to remember. I mean, can he be expected to remember every little position he's taken on every little issue for the past month?
One of his problems is that he has hidden money around the globe in various places in order to avoid paying U.S. income taxes. Everyone knows that. That's the REASON rich people put their money in banks in the Caymans, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and only the Republican god knows where else. Romney has said that it would be stupid if he didn't take advantage of every tax law possible to save as much of his hundreds of millions of dollars as possible. He also said that the American people wouldn't want a stupid president, so there!
Even Romney's wife got into this wee fracas by saying they'd already given "you people" [that's us] all the information we need and to leave them alone. And Mittens isn't about to pony up any further tax information other than the partial returns he's already grudgingly handed over.
So Mr. Obama and friends decided to have some fun. "Okay, Mr. Romney," they said, "we'll be real fair to you and ask you to show the American people a mere five years of your tax returns. You've said you've paid at least 13 percent every year, so here's your chance to prove it."
Mr. Romney responded by pretending to be hurt by such a terrible vicious and personal attack by the president and his party. But he didn't address the issue of turning over five years of tax returns.
And that's what's rather sad about Romney. He's caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. If he doesn't turn over the tax returns, everyone will rightly say he's a tax cheat and a liar or he's afraid to let the American people see what his soul looks like in the light of day. And that could very well make him unelectable. If he does turn over his tax returns, everyone will see that he didn't pay anywhere near 13 percent of his income in taxes, unless you include his tithe to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Everyone will also see how he has hidden his money in various places for the express purpose of avoiding paying taxes. And that will make him unelectable.
But when it's all said and done, I don't give a damn about Mr. Romney and his money. With or without his tax returns the man is one of the most unqualified, immoral, amoral and greedy candidates ever to run for the presidency of these United States.
Well, except for Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Michelle Bachmann, etc., etc. Now, that's a whole passel of morons!
