The U.S. Anti-Israel State Department

If you have followed along in the "Holocaust Journal," you know that during WWII, the U.S. State Department was noted for its anti-Semitic attitudes and its constant attempts to make life difficult for Jews fleeing the Holocaust.

Things haven't changed much.

The U.S. State Department is now urging "Americans of Arab origin to report difficulties encountered entering Israel."

"The United States Government seeks equal treatment for all American citizens regardless of national origin or ethnicity" ... this according to a travel warning issued a few days ago. It also suggested that if Arab Americans have a problem they should call the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv or the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem.

What happened is that some Arab Americans have had to spend a bit of extra time being questioned by Israeli immigration and border authorities upon trying to gain entry to Israel. Arab American groups complained to Condi Rice and thus the warning.

At the same time, the State Department warned Americans not to travel to the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.

What hypocrisy! Israel is not only under constant threat of attack, but is attacked daily! You can be damn sure if they spot a suspicious person, American or no, they are going to verify that he/she is who he/she says he/she is and if that takes a little bit more time, well tough cookies!

Furthermore, have you seen any warnings from our State Department about American Jews entering Arab countries, such as Saudi Arabia or Jordan? Of course not! Jews are not welcome in those countries and travel to those countries at their own risk, which is considerable. So why isn't our State Department telling American Jews to contact the Embassy in Saudi Arabia if they have trouble entering that country?

Maybe it has, and I haven't heard about it.

I doubt it, though.

Jews do not count! Jews are denied entry to many areas of the world, without protest from our government. Arabs can enter Israel. They are checked, as are Jews, for bombs, weapons etc. I suspect that some Arabs trying to enter the US are questioned at entry points too. Do they complain?
Israel is still in a formal state of war with a number of Arab nations, so they are entitled to ask questions.
