Big Brother is here!

The United States House of Representatives "overwhelmingly approved a bill saying that anyone offering an open Wi-Fi connection to the public must report illegal images including 'obscene' cartoons and drawings--or face fines of up to $300,000," according to BS Alert.

Here's more:

"That broad definition would cover individuals, coffee shops, libraries, hotels, and even some government agencies that provide Wi-Fi. It also sweeps in social-networking sites, domain name registrars, Internet service providers, and e-mail service providers such as Hotmail and Gmail, and it may require that the complete contents of the user's account be retained for subsequent police inspection."

Frankly, I find this mind-boggling! The vote was 409 to 2. It's called the SAFE Act.

And the SOB's behind it were very sneaky. They "rushed" it "to the floor under a procedure that's supposed to be reserved for noncontroversial legislation. ... [It] has never received even one hearing or committee vote."

The bill will probably be found unconstitutional as there is no way to define what "illegal images" means or how to determine what is "obscene."

The world is going to hell in a handbasket. Our country is sinking in the mire of corporate corruption devised and supported by the previous administration. Well, you know how the rest goes - we've got some real problems on our hands.

Not to worry. Our Congressional representatives are hard at work proving that Obama's real birth certificate is a fake and passing bills that threaten your rights under the First Amendment!

And these are the clowns that crow about their "strict" construction of the Constitution and who parade their fears of "socialism" and "big" government telling people what to do!

I'm thinking we're involved in a repeat of 1930s Germany. Hitler, you'll recall, was not a commie or a socialist, but a "conservative" who thought he knew best what Germans should believe and do.

What was that old saying? "Fascism will come to America Draped on the cross and wrapped in the flag."

Dirty Pictures eh? Oh Golly I guess I better watch out making those demotivational posters at Despair.com

So does this mean I need to hide my history book on Tiajuana Bibles in the root cellar?

Gods know Dirty Pictures are way more important than Reigning AIG in, or keeping Blue Dog Ass-suckers from screwing up medical reform so bad, that we are worse off than when we started.

What is “Wi-Fi?”

Hitler, Mussolini and most dictators relied upon thugs and the ignorant to gain power. It can happen here!!!!!

Hey Jacob, Glad I could even say anything at all. There are days when I get so frustrated with this bullshit that I find it difficult to communicate the level of disgust, or even speak at all.

You know they used to say that Those who Don't know their history are doomed to repeat it. But what I see are a bunch of Churchiologist Morons being emotionally manipulated by some very rich people who view that warning more like a formula.

Scary shit. Its amazing that the powers that resisted the New Deal have been festering for all this time.

Yes, Seeing Eye Chick -- it's very interesting, but you're right; the anti-New Dealers or their descendants, have been festering all this time...and I think they figured their time had come with Bush/Cheney...but they didn't have enough time!

But, in truth, they fought against Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc., from the beginning, using many of the same tired arguments current Repugs use.

It's just so discouraging that we never seem to get anywhere because a whole new crop of these morons somehow gets into Congress in every generation.

That is because wrong doers can hide behind the the skirt of their savior, and invoke the first amendment while they try and deprive the rest of us our rights
