This occurred at a "valedictory luncheon Rumsfeld hosted for those analysts on December 12, 2006." In attendance were "Brian Williams and other talking heads' best military analyst buddies."

I do not consider Rumsfeld to be a military genius at all. His decisions cost hundreds of lives to be wasted due to lack of proper equipment and any concept of how to fight the war he was involved in. He and too many others ignored the warnings left by the Clinton administration and then went on to ignore the military experts. It is amazing that people pay to listen to these fools. They were tragically wrong and too stubborn to change when the facts were known. Why do we reward fools and punish those that tried to get a different vierw to be considered?
