Maybe McCain forgot or maybe he's just a hypocrite
McCain has blasted Barack Obama for a couple of weeks now by twisting Obama's words in an attempt to show him as an "appeaser," willing to cower to the desires of terrorists such as the Iranian president and Hamas.
Now it may be that McCain is just one nasty SOB. People close to him since high school tend to characterize him that way. In fact, his nickname in high school was McNasty. While I think he is a nasty SOB - McCain has shown his terrible temper and penchant for foul language numerous times, even on the floor of the Senate - I think in his criticism of Obama, McCain shows himself to also be a major hypocrite!
The Huffington Post posted an article yesterday titled "EXPOSED: McCain a Complete Hypocrite on Hamas!" Here's the introductory part:
"Two years ago, in an interview with James Rubin for Sky News, Sen. John McCain expressed a willingness to negotiate with the terrorist group Hamas -- the very group that McCain has been relentlessly using to smear Sen. Barack Obama over the last several weeks.
"Rubin has written an op-ed in Friday's Washington Post about his exchange with McCain, and The Huffington Post has obtained exclusive video. Here's the key excerpt:
'RUBIN: "Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge?"
'MCCAIN: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so . . . but it's a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that."'"
McCain a nasty, rotten, hypocritical appeaser!

Ha Ha! Another lying politician that can speak from both sides of his mouth. It would be wise for the electorate to try to find how McCain voted on issues important to them and then decide if they want to vote for him. That would also apply to all candidates.
I listened to Bush’s comments re appeasement and agree totally with him. I do not think he singled out Obama or anyone else. He could have been talking about Condi or himself too. They have all tried to avoid really taking action against terrorists, those backing them with funds, arms and manpower. Bush goes hat in hand to the Saudi royal family and talks his head off, yet the Saudis will not simply recognize Israel as a state after 60 years. He has spoken to enemies as had Condi. It is a necessity sometimes and they all seem to do it.
