Tampa Repug jokes about Obama assassination

[Photo of Al Austin a Tribune File Photo]

The clown responsible for this utter stupidity " is "Al Austin, a long-time, high-level Republican fund-raiser from Tampa (FL)..."

This "high-level," low-class Republican fund-raiser sent an e-mail to his political contacts that contained a joke referring to the assassination of Barack Obama.

William March as tbo.blogs.com wrote that "The joke concerns a group of schoolchildren discussing the definition of 'tragedy' as opposed to 'great loss' or 'accident.' The punch line comes when one child says that if an airplane carrying Obama and his wife, Michelle, 'was struck by a "friendly fire" missle and blown to smithereens,' the event might be a tragedy 'because it certainly wouldn't be a great loss, and it probably wouldn't be an accident either."

Ha, ha, ha!

Now this bigoted blow-hard says he sent the joke by mistake and that he hadn't read it carefully and didn't know what it said.

Bullshit!

Austin is typical of the kind of people fronting the Republican Party these days. In fact, he has been, within recent memory, finance chairman for the national Republican Party and the state Republican Party.

I think I'll begin believing in hell again. There's got to be someplace we can send these fruitcakes!
