He has managed to lock in some of his mistakes and they cannot be changed easily. I think our huge embassy will last a long time in Iraq. It will probably eventually sit partially used for a long time. We still do no know what kind of state Iraq will eventually become. Large numbers on both sides have been killed and others are refugees all over the Middle East. The professional classes were killed or left Iraq, over many years and might never return. We can hope they can become an acceptable democratic state, but so far, they have not progressed enough to demonstrate longevity. The Arab Muslim world has no history of true democracy. Their history and traditions are not like ours. We should not be surprised when they react differently then we do, but we are. <BR/>BobPorisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
